natural dyed easter eggs

Natural dyed some easter eggs this year.
We used onion skins, blueberries, paprika, red wine, beets, carrot greens, raspberries, several teas including  green, black currant & camomile.
Each ingredient was heated in water (no water needed for the wine) & brought to boil. I added a tablespoon or two of white vinegar to each. We gathered clippings from some of our house plants. The ferns worked especially well. I cut up an old pair of tights & wrapped the pressed plants around the eggs. Then I submerged eggs in the hot dyes.
It's fun to see the color variation changes depending on how long you let them sit.

The results were pretty magical.

Opened since 1950 Children's Fairyland is a fantasy land of kids & adults.
Rumor has it that Walt Disney was inspired by this wondrous place.
Perfectly preserved nostalgia, my babes love it and my husband has been going since he was little.
